 Sealaska Technical Services Awarded Joint Venture U.S. Department of Energy Contract

STS and Tetra Tech awarded $400 Million DICCE 2 contract

Richland, Washington. Sealaska Technical Services (STS), LLC announced today that its joint venture with Tetra Tech, Inc. was selected as one of two awardees to provide design-build services to the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Under the Design, Integration, Construction, Communication, and Engineering II (DICCEII) contract, the joint venture will share in the $400-million contract ceiling over seven years.

The DICCE II Contract is administered by NNSA’s Office of Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence (NSDD) (formerly referred to as the “Second Line of Defense”) whose mission is to strengthen the capabilities and commitment of U.S. partner countries to deter, detect, and interdict illicit trafficking of nuclear and other radioactive materials within the interiors of partner countries, across international borders, and through the global maritime shipping system. This U.S. government nuclear nonproliferation program provides partner countries with the tools and training necessary to counter nuclear smuggling, thus making an essential contribution to the global nuclear detection architecture.

The joint venture will provide design-build services to support the installation and deployment of fixed and mobile radiation detection systems and associated infrastructure at border checkpoints, airports, seaports, internal country locations, and maritime borders outside the United States.
